Returns Policy

How returns and refunds are handled at MYTY Auto Parts.

MYTY Auto Parts wants customers to shop with confidence. The sections below set out when returns are accepted, who pays for return shipping, and the conditions items must meet to qualify for a refund, exchange, or credit.

1. If MYTY Auto Parts Sends the Wrong Part

  • MYTY Auto Parts covers the cost of return shipping.
  • Once the item is received back in original, unused, resalable condition, the correct part will be dispatched at no extra charge.

2. If You Order the Wrong Part

  • Return shipping is for the buyer's account.
  • Returns are only accepted if the item is unused, in its original packaging, and resalable.
  • Items showing signs of installation, damage, contamination, or wear will not qualify.
  • If a return is rejected, the buyer may either collect the item or pay for re-shipping.

3. General Return Conditions

  • Return requests must be communicated within 5 days of purchase.
  • Items must be securely packaged (for example, with bubble wrap) with all contents included. Poorly packaged returns that arrive damaged will be rejected.
  • Price-based returns (for example, finding the same item cheaper elsewhere) are not accepted under the Consumer Protection Act.
  • All returns are subject to inspection and approval by MYTY Auto Parts management.

4. Restocking Fees

  • Standard correctly-supplied returns: a 15% restocking fee is deducted from the refund amount.
  • Special Orders (non-stock items ordered specifically for the customer): a 20% restocking fee may apply, at the discretion of MYTY Auto Parts.
  • Refunds are processed using the same payment method as the original purchase (EFT to EFT, card to card, cash to cash).

5. Electrical and Electronic Items

  • All electrical and electronic products are tested before dispatch.
  • Due to manufacturer policies, no returns are accepted on electrical or electronic items once dispatched.
  • Electronics are not returnable once fitted. Claims require a certified diagnostic report confirming the fault prior to purchase. Generic fault codes from handheld diagnostic readers are not accepted.

6. Special Products

Android Radios

  • Returns must be requested within 5 days of receipt and include all packaging and accessories.
  • No cash refunds are issued. Store credit may be offered at MYTY Auto Parts' discretion.
  • Courier charges are non-refundable.
  • Items returned without a fault will be rejected and shipping costs are for the customer.
  • Return and warranty claims are processed within 30 days of receipt.

7. International Orders

  • International orders are non-stock items ordered or manufactured specifically on request, with delivery typically in 14 to 30 working days.
  • Refunds will not be issued where goods have been withheld indefinitely by SARS Customs or other law enforcement.

8. Risk and Ownership

  • Risk transfers to the buyer upon delivery or collection. Customers are encouraged to insure goods if needed.
  • Items remain the property of MYTY Auto Parts until paid in full.

9. How to Initiate a Return

Contact MYTY Auto Parts within 5 days of purchase. Quote your invoice number and reason for the return. A reference number must be obtained before goods are returned.

Warranty Policy

Warranty cover, conditions, and the documents required to make a claim.

MYTY Auto Parts supplies replacement vehicle parts with manufacturer-backed warranties, subject to the conditions set out below. This document summarises the standard warranty period for each product category, what is covered and excluded, and the documentation required when submitting a warranty claim.

1. Standard Warranty Periods

  • New parts: 6-month limited warranty, unless the product page or product label states a different period.
  • Android radios: 6-month limited warranty, conditional on installation by MYTY Auto Parts or an accredited auto electrician with proof of fitment.
  • Second-hand parts: sold without warranty.
  • Electrical and electronic items: not returnable once fitted; specific limitations apply (see Section 4).

If a product label specifies a different warranty duration, that label takes precedence over the standard period.

2. Installation Requirements for Warranty Validity

To remain eligible for warranty support, parts must be installed correctly. The following installation conditions apply:

  • Installation by MYTY Auto Parts, a qualified automotive technician, or an RMI-accredited service centre.
  • Fitment in line with OEM specifications, including correct torque settings, approved gaskets, specified lubricants, and approved tools.
  • Diagnostic calibration, where applicable, using approved equipment.

Installation by an unaccredited fitter, or in a manner that does not meet OEM specifications, will void the warranty.

3. Documents Required for a Warranty Claim

All warranty claims must be supported by the following documentation:

  • Fitment job card and installation invoice.
  • Odometer reading at the time of fitment.
  • Proof of accreditation of the fitment centre.
  • A certified diagnostic report confirming the nature of the fault.
  • The original MYTY Auto Parts invoice as proof of purchase.

Goods must be returned within 5 days of the fault being identified. MYTY Auto Parts reserves the right to refuse claims received outside this period.

4. Electrical and Electronic Items

  • All electrical and electronic products are tested before dispatch.
  • Many manufacturers do not accept returns on automotive electrical products. As a result, no returns are accepted on these items once dispatched.
  • Existing electronic or electrical degradation in the vehicle's wiring may cause irreparable damage to a new part on fitment. A certified diagnostic report identifying the specific faulty part must be supplied prior to purchase.
  • Generic fault codes from handheld or palm-held diagnostic machines are not accepted.
  • Damage to alternators, starters, sensors, or regulators caused by burning is not covered under warranty.

5. Android Radios — Specific Warranty Conditions

  • 6-month limited warranty subject to installation by MYTY Auto Parts or an accredited auto electrician, with proof of fitment.
  • Returns must be requested within 5 days of receipt and include all packaging and accessories.
  • No cash refunds. Store credit may be issued at the discretion of MYTY Auto Parts. Courier charges are non-refundable.
  • Items returned without a fault will be rejected and the customer is liable for shipping costs.
  • Out-of-warranty repairs (including courier fees) are for the customer's account.
  • Warranty and return claims are processed within 30 days of receipt.
  • The warranty is void if the unit has been damaged, incorrectly installed, modified, used outside its intended purpose, or if serial numbers or warranty seals have been tampered with.

6. Exclusions

The following are not covered under warranty:

  • Wear and tear, willful damage, or negligence.
  • Damage caused by misuse, abnormal working conditions, or use outside the part's intended purpose.
  • Failure to follow the manufacturer's or MYTY Auto Parts' instructions, whether oral or in writing.
  • Damage caused by unauthorised repair, alteration, or modification.
  • Damage caused by third parties or by force majeure events outside MYTY Auto Parts' control.
  • Burnt alternators, starters, sensors, or regulators.
  • Change-of-heart returns, including cases where the same item is found cheaper elsewhere. The Consumer Protection Act does not cater for change-of-heart returns.

7. Warranty Remedy

Where a valid claim is accepted, MYTY Auto Parts will, at its sole discretion:

  • Repair the goods, or
  • Replace the goods with the same or superior product, or
  • Issue a credit note or refund, where appropriate.

Goods returned outside the warranty period will be repaired at MYTY Auto Parts' standard list price, at the customer's request.

8. Verifying the Correct Part Before Purchase

Customers are responsible for confirming that a part is correct for their vehicle before purchase. Original Equipment (OE) numbers on the part removed from the vehicle should be matched to the part being purchased. Where there is any doubt, customers are encouraged to consult a qualified automotive technician, the vehicle manufacturer, or to contact MYTY Auto Parts before placing an order.

9. How to Submit a Warranty Claim

Contact MYTY Auto Parts with your invoice number, fault description, and supporting documentation. A reference number must be issued before any goods are returned.
